Who can register a .zuerich domain?
The .zuerich domain is reserved exclusively for legal entities, i.e. companies, organizations and public bodies. In order to acquire a domain under .zuerich, certain criteria must be met.
These include that the company or organization is registered in the commercial register of the Canton of Zurich and has an active business and an administrative headquarters in the Canton of Zurich. The UID number must be visible in the commercial register of the Canton of Zurich.
Public corporations or organizations under public law based in the Canton of Zurich can also acquire a .zuerich domain. There is specific information which can be viewed here.
Furthermore, it is possible for associations, specialist agencies or similar organizations based in the canton of Zurich to obtain a domain, even if they do not have an entry in the commercial register.
In this case, however, they must be predominantly and long-term active for a public corporation or an organization under public law based in the Canton of Zurich.
